marzipan

  • 1 cup almond paste 
  • 1 1/2 cup confectionary sugar
  • 1 egg white
  • for decoration: food coloring, cloves, sugar crystals

Beat egg white until frothy. Mix in almond paste. Gradually add in sugar until a workable "dough" is formed - not too sticky or too stiff. Mix dough with dye, hand mold into desired shapes. Place on parchment or wax paper and allow to air dry over night.
